Eclectic Vintage Wedding at the Casa Blanca on Cherry Island in Alexandria Bay New York {Part 1}

There are so many fantastic wedding photos from this wonderful day that I actually can’t fit them all in one blog post.  So here you will find the getting ready photos and most of the portraits.  And don’t forget to check out the slideshow and wedding album. 

Freddy looked stunning in her beautiful lace dress (from Dominique Levesque) and she was absolutely glowing.  Her good friend Emile did her makeup, which was exceptional.  Freddy wore an antique ivory rose necklace and matching earrings.  And her ring is a custom design with an heirloom diamond from Alex’s family.   The Casa Blanca on Cherry Island provided Victorian material that made a perfect backdrop for their special day.  And Freddy used vintage vases and bowls to hold arrangements of mums, succulents, dusty miller, baby’s breath, mini roses and more. 

Freddy and Alex both love literature.  Freddy is a librarian and archeologist and Alex is a poet and teaches English.  So when I saw the library at the Casa Blanca I knew we had to use that spot for portraits.  I love finding personal details I can weave into wedding day portraits and this one was perfect. Another detail was the “unique” gargoyles on the islands.  These semi-ghoulish statues were one of the things that Freddy just loved about Cherry Island.  She is drawn to unique and different things that tell a story.  So we made a special point to include them in the portraits.
