Vintage Victorian Wedding at the Casa Blanca on Cherry Island

Wow!  What a wonderful wedding!  I usually post 10 or so photos for a quick sneak peek after each wedding to make sure you get to see the amazing photographs right after.  But I couldn’t help but show you more!  So, sorry this is a little delayed but here is a full preview of the Freddy and Alex’s amazing wedding at the Casa Blanca on Cherry Island.  

There aren’t enough words to describe how wonderful this couple and wedding day was.  Every time I look at the photos and think of their wedding day my heart is filled with love and gratitude that I get to be part of such a special day in people’s lives.  Freddy and Alex are a perfect match.  I love their quirkiness… and I don’t think they would mind me saying that they are quirky; I think they fully admit it.  But that is what is so wonderful.  They are so secure and comfortable with each other they allow their full, confident and amazing personality to shine.  Freddy loves eclectic things and uniqueness… like the gargoyles on Cherry Island.  And Alex is so funny!  He is quick with a joke and not afraid to admit his strengths and weaknesses.  Alex recalled a story in his vows of how he tried to help Freddy with some home improvements and needless to say he might have created the need for more improvements… but amidst the water leaking and broken pipes (and probably a little frustration) Freddy calmly said, “Well, how are we going to fix this.”  That’s how they are… a team.  They fit like and hand  in a glove and truly bring out the very best in each other.  As long as they are by each other’s side everything will be perfect.  And their family and friends mirrored these sentiments with all the love, support and speeches on their wedding day.  This was one of those profound weddings that really spoke to the meaning of marriage. 

Freddy and Alex married their two styles (Freddy very eclectic and Alex simple and clean), with their wedding décor choices.  The Casa Blanca on Cherry Island provided a great deal of Victorian eclectic material as a backdrop for their special day.  And Freddy used vintage vases and bowls to hold arrangements of mums, succulents, dusty miller, baby’s breath, mini roses and more. The burgundy’s, soft greens, whites and purples looked fantastic.  My favorite was the purple succulents.  Kathleen Murphy of Primrose Hill created Freddy and Mariana’s bouquets of locally grown wildflowers.  And they kept things classy and simple with a beautiful lace dress for Freddy (from Dominique Levesque) and a sharp new suit and plum colored tie for Alex. Freddy wore an antique ivory rose necklace and matching earrings.  And her ring is a custom design with an heirloom diamond from Alex’s family.   

Freddy’s sister, Mariana and Alex’s twin brother Greg made up their bridal party.  They had a sentimental and heartfelt ceremony that merged the diverse backgrounds of each family.  Alex, being a poet, had exquisite vows that were funny, honest and loving.  Freddy… well she made me cry… as she professed the true respect, love and commitment between them.
