Fall Engagement Portraits at St. Bonaventure {Sarah and Nick}Fall Engagement Portraits at St. Bonaventure {Sarah and Nick} Potsdam Based Photographer: Natalie’s Studio| Engagement Photos I was so glad to make this engagement session special for Sarah and Nick. This wonderful couple will be getting married next summer in Lowville NY. But they met in the southerntier of NY at St. Bonaventure University and they currently live in Washington D.C. So, when we were planning their engagement session we chatted about what location would be the best and we all decided a trip to St. Bonnie was the ticket! I was very excited about the idea. I absolutely love making photo shoots meaningful in any way that I can; to be able to do the engagement session where they met and got engaged was really special. It was an early November photo shoot so it was a bit cold and windy in NY, but Sarah and Nick did a great job. And we still had great color on all the leaves outside of Devereux Hall. It made for some stunning shots! And we had a lot of fun in front to De La Roche Hall which is where Nick proposed. They have the cutest story! Sarah and Nick first met at a basketball game. (Nick had noticed her prior, but Sarah had no idea who he was.) At the game, Sarah was sitting in front of Nick and he accidently stepped on her jacket and then apologized. This started a little banter back and forth about whether or not Nick is a “likable guy”. This led to more conversation and eventually Nick to ask her if she would attend a Christmas party with him after the game. To Nick’s surprise and delight she accepted. Sarah admits, it was not common for her to go to a party with someone she just met and she was a bit nervous, but she could sense Nick was someone special. And he is indeed, “a likeable guy.” Because of their adorable first meeting story we reenacted their “first date” with some photos at the basketball court. Complete with some fun expression ones. (I love Sarah’s sense of humor!) Sarah and Nick are so down to earth, polite and professional. They are a pleasure to work with and fun to get to know!
