My Maternity Portrait Shoot by Dani T Photography

Potsdam Based Photographer: Natalie’s Studio| Photographer Collaboration

I am really excited to share this photo shoot with you! This is a personal portrait session that I did as a collaboration with my good friend and fellow photographer Danielle Thorn. Dani and I have been working together for a few years now. Many of you may know her as my assistant at weddings. I just love working with Dani; she has such a great attitude and is so fun to work with. She brings out the fun in a photo shoot.

Dani was kind enough to come up to Potsdam and do a joint photo shoot for my maternity session. We did a maternity session for me and a couples shoot for her and her man, Tim. (I will be posting what I took of her and Tim at a later time.)

Purple is by far my favorite color, so the colors I chose were purples, navy’s and cream. We were able to use a lilac patch for the first set of photos to get a more formal romantic look. Originally, I was trying to get apple blossoms, but we missed those. So luckily, I found a patch of lilacs that still had blooms. Then we went to the property that Matt and I bought last year for the second half of the shoot. This was really important to me because even though it is a little run down right now; this is where we are going to build out house. And our children will be raised on this land so I is sentimental to have our baby girl’s maternity session there. Besides, I love the look of all the grey barnwood and textures that are there.

We got creative and had fun with my tossing train before a downpour of a thunderstorm rolled in. Poor Dani, she ran to get one last shot and twisted her ankle. So, the boys grabbed all the gear and ran to get it out of the rain. Dani and I were both pretty sore after the session, but it was well worth it. And our men are so sweet, they waited on us and brought us dinner on the couch, so we didn’t have to move. We are lucky ladies! (P.S. Matt and Tim have soooo much in common. We had such a fun weekend. I wish they could have stayed all week long!)
