When I think of Bridget and Lawrence I think of class. Everything about this lovely couple is the definition of classy. From the way they treat others, to how they love each other, to their hospitality, faith and so much more. It has truly been my pleasure getting to know them and their families. I am honored I was able to be part of their wedding day and give them beautiful photographs.
Although Bridget and Lawrence live in Connecticut they chose to get married in Watertown and Clayton NY because Bridget’s family has always owned and loved their 1000’s Islands Cottage at Vance Shores. The Harbor Hotel was a beautiful backdrop for the reception and very comfortable for the ladies to get ready at. The boys prepared at the family cottage which is also where the first look and other portraits took place.
I was so happy with the way the cottage photos turned out! We wanted to show off the water but keep everyone in shade so they weren’t squinting in the bright sun. By framing the couple under a tree and using a few lighting techniques, we were able to get the beautiful blue water and a gorgeous composed image that I am sure Bridget and Lawrence will cherish for years and years and pass on to their future family.
Back at the 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel I was able to steal Bridget and Lawrence away for a few more beautiful images. I was giddy with excitement when we had red Adirondack chairs to work with that just happened to match the wedding colors. And what was even better… I saw a potted plant of purple and red flowers that I could shoot through giving a soft colorful foreground to some gorgeous casual images. And the colors even matched the wedding! I can’t even decide which portrait is my favorite!
