Woodsy Hunter Green Maternity Family SessionWoodsy Hunter Green Maternity Family Session {Fiese} Potsdam Based Photographer: Natalie’s Studio| Maternity Photography We were lucky, we were able to do Katie’s Maternity session days before all businesses were closed due to COVID-19. And we were very careful to all stay far away. Which is pretty easy to do at an outdoor photo session. I am really hoping we will be through the worst of this pandemic before her little one arrives. I really want to be able to give her beautiful newborn images. We will all have to pray and wait and see. Lots of prayers right now for the whole world, But besides all the fear and worry out there right now, lets talk about how cute this family is! They are adorable and did a great job at their woodsy photo session in Canton NY. Katie is originally from the Upstate NY area and just moved back here from Virginia. I was very excited to meet her and get to know their story. Both she and her husband Marshal love the Adirondacks and hiking. They are planning a mountain themed nursery for the little guy when he arrives. I wanted to play off that idea for the maternity session. But how….short of driving all the way to Lake Placid and climbing a mountain together….which would be tough with two pregnant ladies ( I am prego too right now.) But, we had a good idea. The trail at Heritage park in Canton has some great rock features, is close to work and home for them and would be convenient and give us a woodsy, mountain look to the images. I always love that with photography you can play with the angle and create a different mood or scene. I think we were very successful in making the photo shoot look mountainous and Adirondack. (Even though there are building, parking lots and more just beyond our view….shhhhhhhh…. you don’t know that.) So never underestimate the value of a good angle, and the eye to find it. Also, to continue with our mountain theme I lent Katie a green dress from my maternity collection. She found a perfect shirt for Marshal to go with it. And sweet little Claire rocked her navy dress and jean jacket. What a cutie. They all did a great job at the photo session and we got a lot of beautiful maternity images. Here are their top 5.
