A Dog Themed Birthday for WilliamA Dog Themed 2nd Birthday Party Potsdam Based Photographer: Natalie’s Studio| Personal What a fantastic weekend for William’s Birthday. I wanted to share this personal blog post of my son’s second birthday photo shoot and party. If you know me well, you know I LOVE party planning. (Maybe a little too much… but hey, everyone has there thing.) So, while planning William’s second birthday I was thinking of his favorite things. And he loves dogs! What a fun theme. I did a mini photo shoot with William and our English Setter Copper for his 2nd birthday photos. It was a lot of fun. Both boys have been in the studio a lot. I really think they are trained to look at the camera! No photoshop, they both just looked at the camera with great expressions! I call that a big win because I do these shoots all by myself (and 32 weeks pregnant right now.) So, there is a lot of luck involved to get a great shot. After our mini studio session, we went outside for some candid’s of the two of them playing and of course sat on the tractor, William’s other favorite thing! For his party I drew the dogs of our family, Copper, Jack and Kona. I wanted them to be on the walls at William’s height so that he could see them and have fun with it. I got some dog themed fabric and made a #2 for his “photo wall” and a pennant banner. I like to have a place at parties to take photos with family and friends. I (and my friend Casey) made several dog ear accessories to wear in the photos just for fun. My mom made a wonderful cake with a fondant sculpture of William laying on Copper. (Can you tell where I got my love of art from?) I was so grateful for the help and the cake was adorable and special. I did some hand print and paw print artwork to display. Trust me the paw print was much harder to get then a two-year-old hand print. But I really love hand and feet prints at young ages. I just think they are so sweet. We had a “hot dog” bar to go with our party theme with fun toppings. Also, on the menu was “Paw-sta Salad” and “Ruff-age” (vegetable tray). Thanks pintrest. It was a beautiful day outside and a wonderful party with family to celebrate William’s 2nd birthday. I can’t believe how quickly it is going by. He is such a light in my life and I love him with every piece of my heart. I am just so grateful that I get to spend so much time with him because I know he is growing fast. Enjoy! Natalie
