Generational Heirloom Art PortraitsGenerational Heirloom Art Portraits Potsdam Based Photographer: Natalie’s Studio| Generational Portraits Generational art portraits are one of the most meaningful portrait sessions. Although it can be challenging to get all of your family together, when you do, it is a wonderful idea to create a family art portrait. It’s priceless to have generational piece of artwork, like a visual family tree that can be enjoyed now and passed on to future generations. I had the pleasure of working with a family that I have known since I was about 6 years old! Now that I am back in my hometown, it has been very fulfilling to be able to use my talents as an artist to bring joy to people who have been part of my life. Ms. Elliott was my 2nd grade teacher and member of the church I was a nanny at for several years during high school years. In fact, I was the church nanny to Ashlin (her Granddaughter) who is now a beautiful young lady entering her senior year of high school. It brings me so much joy to be able to share what I do with others. And I really enjoyed meeting the rest of the Elliott, Hansen & Baker Families. We chose to do their portraits using Ms. Elliott’s beautiful front porch. I love things like this because they make the artwork more custom and personal to the family. Also, we did the portrait session just before a big family barbeque. That is a great way to ensure all family members will be able to partake in the family portraits. And all you really need to do is coordinate clothing. So the next time you are thinking of getting the family together consider organizing an hour ahead of your event to take time to create a lasting piece of artwork for generations to enjoy now and forever.
