A Country Engagement-Potsdam NY
Congratulations to Nick and Patty! Nick is my brother and Patty is my soon to be sister in law. I am so excited to welcome Patty into our family. And I couldn't be happier for the two of them. They are such a great couple; their personalities really complement each other.
We had such a fun engagement shoot and got a great variety of shots. We started at the Parishville Center Apple Orchard where they will tie the knot next June. There was gorgeous evening light. Photographing my brother was actually easier and more fun than expected. It was great to just let Nick and Patty have some alone time and see their love. They just couldn’t stop smiling. (Plus Nick was being a goof.)
Nick is a 4th generation farmer of Adon Farms located in Parishville NY. Patty’s farming roots also go back into her childhood. As two Cornell University Agriculture grads, the farm is very important to them. So naturally the next stop on our photo adventure was the barn. Although it is a little hard to make a modern dairy look romantic, I think we pulled it off.
A few shots in front of the milk truck to get the farm name and then it was off to catch the sunset…now here is where it really got fun. Patty and I, “Oh my gosh we have to get the sunset! But we want corn stalks too! And it is setting fast. Nick, can you get us there?” Nick, “Get in the truck!” Then we proceeded to “bah-hog” across the field to the corn stalks, set up the lights quick and started shooting. By this time Nick and Patty have become experts at posing. These might be my favorite shots from the session. And we even got in some moon shots! It was a great shoot. I love you both and am so happy for you. I hope you enjoy your photos and all the memories made.
