And because a wedding day is so important often people take the opportunity to let that day not only showcase their commitment and love for one another, but to also define them as a couple. Each wedding is unique, but I truly love the ones that take it to the next level and weave in elements of their history, style and interests. And for Chelsea and Stathi, they did just that. When they first contacted me and told me that they were having a Disney wedding I thought, “That is pretty COOL! I haven’t done a Disney wedding yet.” (And I for one am a huge lover of Disney movies… when my husband is away at hunting camp guess what I get to watch!) And then after getting to know Chelsea and Stathi, I realized that the Disney theme was more than just a common interest, it was a true driving force in their love story. Chelsea and Efstathios met at the Disney College Program where they both worked. When they first saw each other it was at an event that Chelsea was running. Being the gentleman that Izzy is, he offered to help her with some heavy lifting while picking up at the end to the event. It was hot! Over 100 degrees and they were sweaty and exhausted. (But Stathi noted that he thought Chelsea was beautiful, even though she describes herself as terribly sweaty with no make-up on that day.) When Izzy gathered up the courage to ask for Chelsea’s number, she obliged, but accidently gave him the wrong number! Given the 100 degree day it was definitely an accident. Luckily they met up again and began talking up a storm. From there the relationship bloomed. I can only image how truly magical a budding new relationship could be in Disney. Their first date at EPCOT ended in watching the Fireworks from the bridge in the Italy pavilion… how amazing. And 2 years later Efstathios proposed at the firework show in Disneyland saying, "These past two years have been a dream. Let's make this dream permanent. Will you marry me?" How beautiful! And now their fairytale continues with a beautiful Disney themed wedding at the castle that Chelsea dreamed of getting married at since she was a child. A Boldt Castle wedding for a true princess wedding! Chelsea chose beautiful soft yellow dresses for her bridesmaids, a color reminiscent of Belle from Beauty and the Beast. And they decorated the tables with fantastic custom centerpieces that had glass red roses atop stacks of old books. All of the place cards were different locations from Disney movies. And their card box was even the mailbox from Up. The details were amazing! And let’s not forget one of the most fantastic cakes I have seen! Lorraine Ward from Sweets Lorraine created an amazing replica of Cinderella’s castle. She even put a hidden goofy character on it since he is their favorite. I highly recommend her.
